WRITTEN AGREEMENT
In order to produce the best possible show, everyone involved in the production must abide by the following rules. Failure to do so may result in the discontinuation of your participation in the show.

- Students are expected to follow all school rules and remain academically eligible to participate in the spring musical.
- Prompt attendance at all rehearsals for which you are scheduled is required. Rehearsal times will be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. Arrive five minutes early, ready to work!
- The directors will only accept schedule conflicts if they are turned in to Mr. Williams on or before December 22nd. This list should include important family events, college auditions, and vacations that will prevent you from attending rehearsals. Out of courtesy to the entire ensemble, please schedule doctor’s appointments, dance classes and other types of lessons around rehearsals. There is very little solo work involved in a musical. If someone is not present, it makes it very difficult for his or her scene, song, and/or dance partner(s) to rehearse. If a student is in school and misses rehearsal for any reason not listed on the conflict sheet (other than a legitimate family emergency or extreme illness) it will be considered unexcused.
- Per our school policy, in order for a cast member to attend rehearsals and performances, he/she must be in school for at least four hours that day. That means you must be in the building each day no later than 10:05am.
- If a student has more than one unexcused absence from rehearsal, he or she will be pulled from the numbers they have missed and may no longer be allowed to perform in the show. Three late arrivals of more than 5 minutes past start time will be considered an unexcused absence. If he/she brings a pass signed by the teacher, the student will not be marked as late.
- Appropriate behavior, hard work, and a positive attitude are expected. This is a school-sponsored activity, and school rules will be followed accordingly.
- Do not alter your appearance (ie. hair style/color) in any way between now and the performance without prior approval from the director. THIS INCLUDES ALL HAIR CUTS AND TRIMS. Gentlemen wear microphones in their hair. A close cut makes it impossible to hide the mic.
- Lyrics and music for Act 1 must be memorized by January 30th. Lyrics and music for Act 2 must be memorized by February 29th. Failure to do so may result in the recasting of your part.
- Grades must be maintained and homework must be completed. Bring homework to rehearsal in case you have down time. Also, plan ahead with your schedule so that you can budget your time wisely and avoid unnecessary time crunches at the last minute. The musical is an extra-curricular activity. You must be able to balance your required schoolwork with the demanding rehearsal schedule. If you are unable to do that, please do not audition.
- Students must participate in physical education classes during Tech Week. “Sitting out” is not an option. Similar to the athletic policy, if you do not participate in class, you cannot participate in that evening’s rehearsal.
- All cast members are expected to help fundraise for and market their show. Each cast member must sell at least $175 in ads for our ad booklet or pay a flat rate of $175 for costume design/rental/cleaning. This is in addition to any fees assessed by the Robbinsville School District. Ms. Territo will be in charge of Ad Book sales, as well as poster/flyer distribution. She will assign marketing/publicity routes to each cast member. It is expected that cast members will take an ACTIVE role and work to fulfill the assigned tasks.
- Cast members should plan on rehearsing five days a week as well as Saturdays (from mid-January through the show). Most rehearsals are scheduled from 2:45-5:00pm, but will gradually get longer as we near opening night. This is a full-time commitment like any varsity level sport!
- All cast members must attend every rehearsal during the last two weeks before opening night (beginning on Friday, March 18th). Plan to be in rehearsals from 3-9PM during this time (a dinner break will be provided). There are no excused absences from these rehearsals (including doctor’s appointments, piano/voice lessons, dance class, other extra curricular activities, other choral groups, jobs, etc.) except for illness that keeps you out of school or a family emergency. Cast members must also plan to attend the entirety of the full day Technical Rehearsal on Saturday, April 2nd from 10AM-9PM (so do not plan to take your SAT’s or ACT’s on that day).
- Please understand that participation in the musical is a voluntary activity for everyone involved. It is imperative that we all work as an ensemble in order to create an outstanding production!
- Valuables must be kept in lockers during rehearsals.
- This signed Written Agreement must be returned at your audition. Students who have not turned in the necessary forms prior to the audition date will not be able to audition.
